The team behind Carta Wine Bar has a new concept in the works. Aperitivo by CARTA will open at 101 West 10th Street in mid-January, according to a release.

The all-day neighborhood cafe and wine bar will start the day with Paloma Bakery coffee, Paloma Bakery pastries, protein-driven breakfast options and grab-and-go food items. For lunch, it will offer soups, sandwiches and salads. For the late afternoon and evening, the space will become a 24-seat wine bar, serving wine by the glass and bottle, craft beers, vermouths and spritzes alongside small plates, a raw bar and entrees such as lobster manchego mac and cheese and braised short rib.

Marcela Jiménez, executive chef George Guzman and wine director Rebecca Powelson — the team behind Carta Wine Bar — are crafting the concept along with Silvia Garcia-Nevado, who will serve as director of culinary operations. Garcia-Nevado draws on experience at Bar Vinazo and Despaña.

When the spot opens, Aperitivo by Carta will be open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, with hours extended to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
