Aquarelle owner Marcus Andrew is set to open a new, yet-to-be-named restaurant in Midtown East, according to a liquor license application filed with Manhattan Community Board Six.

Andrew has been a figure in New York’s restaurant scene for years. He owns the building on 47 Avenue B in the East Village, which formerly housed Lamia’s Fish Market and now houses Aquarelle, a Mediterranean seafood restaurant opened in 2025 and co-owned by Baris Koroglu. He formerly operated Le Souk off LaGuardia Pl., near NYU.

The upcoming Mediterranean seafood restaurant will operate on 905 1st Ave., a large corner space that formerly held Ethos Gallery 51, which closed in 2024. The restaurant will also offer outdoor seating. Additional details about the new restaurant are scarse.

Andrew told the community board that he’s ready to open as soon as he gets the license, an estimated few months away.
