Artisanal Kosher Bakery With ‘To Die For’ Croissants to Open East Village Outpost

Patis Bakery is opening its newest location in the East Village in the space formerly occupied by The Bean. The French-American shop boasts an array of Kosher pastries and breads.

Patis Bakery is opening its newest location in the East Village soon.

The bakery put up signage up on the Southeast corner of 12th Street and Broadway that it is coming soon. It will be replacing the space formerly occupied by The Bean, according to local blog EVGrieve. Patis Bakery is billed as a French-American artisanal café that specializes in pastries and breads, as well as offering sandwiches, coffee and freshly squeezed juices. 

The certified Kosher kitchen is helmed by chef Moses Wendel and boasts outposts in heavily Jewish neighborhoods including Midwood and Crown Heights in Brooklyn, as well as nearby suburbs including New York’s Cedarhurst and Lawrence in New York, and New Jersey’s Lakewood, Lyndhurst and Teaneck.

It also boasts a few handful of Manhattan locations in the Upper West Side, Bryant Park, Grand Central, Soho, Times Square and the Upper East Side.
