Birch Coffee has a new location on the way, this time targeting the Upper East Side neighborhood in 2025. The spot is listed as “coming soon” to 1501 First Avenue on the company’s website.

The coffee chain has expanded across the city since founders Jeremy Lyman and Paul Schlader launched it in 2009. Schlader has spent years focusing on Birch Coffee’s roasting practices and building its teams, and Lyman has focused on the customer service aspect of the business, according to the Birch website. Together, they have built a chain of 13 locations.

The locations target different neighborhoods in New York, including West Village, Tribeca and the Financial District. There are also locations in Long Island City and Queens, and one international location in Seoul, South Korea.

This will be the third location on the Upper East Side, joining one at 62nd St. and Lexington and another at 88th St. and Third Ave.

The new location is expected to open in late January, according to Patch.

What Now New York reached out to the ownership team for additional information on the new location but was unable to obtain a comment by the time of publication.
