À votre santé! That’s the French way of saying cheers before a drink. Literally translating to “To your health!”, it’s an expression you better get used to if you want to check out today’s newest restaurant.

Bisou is a brand new concept from Laura “Kate” Presbury. Styled as an all-day French café and bar, Bisou will be moving into the recently vacated space at 112 Sixth Avenue. As Laura states, “We aim to become the neighborhood meeting place for all residents of West SoHo by giving our customers the experience and the feeling that they have been transported to a Paris café.” Offering a wide selection of seasonally rotating wines, cocktails, and tapas, Bisou’s mixologist will carefully craft the cocktails with unique flavors that add a new twist to the classics.

Named after the French word for a kiss, Bisou is dedicated to establishing an atmosphere that reflects the relaxing yet upscale elegance of Parisian Cafés. With décor consisting of soft colors and warm lighting, the café’s design is an ode to Parisian Art Deco with a modern twist. Considering the key role that social media plays in marketing, Kate and her team intend to curate a design that will invite customers to share their experience at Bisou on social media.

Featuring a palette of mint green, salmon, gold, and oak, the bar will also feature a French style checkered floor and wood paneling details and mirrors around the wall. With a private room in the back, Bisou will also be able to offer guests private reservations for parties and other occasions.

Replacing Mooncake Foods, Bisou will be a welcome addition to the space between SoHo and Hudson Square. Mooncake Foods was a popular Asian-American eatery that specialized in dumplings and spicy noodles, and at the moment it appears that this was the only location in operation. Look forward to saying bonjour to Bisou when it opens some time next year.
