Black Seed Bagels shop in Long Island City officially opened on Monday, May 19th. This is Black Seed’s first location in the borough of Queens – joining nine other shops around Manhattan and Brooklyn.
The 2,200 square foot shop – located at 5-18 50th Avenue in the Hunter’s Point neighborhood of LIC – will bake fresh bagels daily on-site and offer indoor and outdoor seating. The shop will be open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., and Saturday & Sunday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Black Seed is known for its honey-boiled bagels, premium ingredients, and creative sandwiches. They source from like-minded purveyors endeavoring to be the best at what they do – including Vital Farms pasture-raised eggs, King Arthur high gluten flour, Catsmo smoked salmon (fresh, never frozen) and more.
In the coming weeks, the shop will offer customized ordering for pickup and delivery via its online platform and dedicated app, through which guests can receive loyalty perks and place orders up to a week in advance.
Black Seed is independently owned and operated by proprietors Noah Bernamoff, Matt Kliegman, and James Beard Award finalist head baker Dianna Daoheung, who co-founded Black Seed together in 2014.
