One of New York’s hottest new coffee companies is continuing its aggressive expansion with a brand new outpost on First Avenue.

Blank Street Coffee is a relatively new coffee chain that has very quickly positioned itself to become one of the city’s most ubiquitous new concepts. Blank Street was founded in 2020 by owners Vinay Menda and Issam Freiha and was born from the idea that great coffee should not come at a premium. The two endeavored to create a more affordable coffee option for New Yorkers by cleverly planning their retail locations to maximize efficiency and minimize cost (and even pay their baristas a living wage).

Blank Street is best recognized by their fleet of teal-green coffee carts that can be found dotted across critical Manhattan junctures. By optimizing their location and minimizing their real estate footprint, Blank Street is able to sell exclusive, premium coffee at a price point that competitors simply can’t match. Of course, the brand also operates multiple brick-and-mortar locations and has quickly established itself as one of the fastest-growing coffee companies in New York.

Founded in 2020, the ambitious owners have gone on record saying that they’d love to have as many as 100 locations in operation by the end of 2022. As part of this explosive growth plan, Blank Street’s latest outpost will be opening up at 218 First Avenue, on the corner of 13th and First. The space was previously home to a GNC that closed down in 2020, and soon it will house an exciting new brick-and-mortar space for Blank Street. No word has been given as to when the new location is expected to open, but the signage has already been put up so the team is hard at work preparing the space for its grand opening.

Beyond coffee, Blank Street has also partnered with King David Tacos in order to bring guests delicious grab & go breakfast tacos from the convenience of their carts. The tacos can only be found at a select few locations though, and those locations can be found on Blank Street’s website. Additionally, you can follow Blank Street on Instagram for updates on all their new outposts as they continue their aggressive expansion across the city and country.
