Bread & Butter is seeking to expand with a new location in Lenox Hill, according to a community board filing from this month. The local chain is planning to open in the ground-floor space at 55 East 59th Street.
The spot serves Asian-inspired cuisine. It offers both a bakery and cafe element, serving items ranging from pastries to sushi, sandwiches and salads. Beverages range from coffee to beer.
Renovations have been underway on the building for some time, a representative with the company shared at the October meeting for Community Board 8. The team hopes to open within the next six months, with an opening likely in early spring of 2026.
Plans call for eight tables with 28 seats on the interior. The team proposed that the spot will be open 24 hours a day.
The local brand has three additional locations throughout Manhattan, including a couple locations in Midtown and another in the Murray Hill neighborhood.
