Chubby Group is bringing Chubby Cattle BBQ to New York City, with plans to go into a 6,000-square-foot space at 206 Spring Street in SoHo, according to reporting by the New York Business Journal. The spot is anticipating a July opening.

Chubby Cattle BBQ currently has 7 locations open across the country with several coming soon, according to its website. Current locations include spots in Los Angeles, Chicago and Las Vegas. Chubby Cattle also has hotpot spots and shabu shabu.

Haibin Yang and David Zhao launched Chubby Group in 2016 with the Chubby Cattle Hotpot concept in Las Vegas.

“This communal dining experience became the cornerstone of our brand, emphasizing quality, innovation and cultural authenticity,” the Chubby Cattle website states. “Building on this success, we expanded into Chubby Cattle BBQ, elevating the dining experience with premium Wagyu BBQ. Our all-you-can-eat menu features three tiers of Wagyu, including American and Australian full blood Wagyu, as well as the highly sought-after Japanese A5 Wagyu, offering an indulgent and unforgettable meal.”

Chubby Group also operates other concepts, including The X Pot, Niku X and Mikiya. Mikiya Shabu, Niku X and Chubby Skewers all opened outposts in New York City recently under the Chubby Group umbrella. They also plan to debut a new automated concept, Chubby Bowls, in New York City by the end of the year.

“Our mission is to change the way you enjoy each hotpot dip, shabu shabu swish and yakiniku sear,” the website states. “With traditional recipes and global influence, Chubby Cattle brings out each ingredients’ natural flavors in every dish.”
