Some exciting news is arriving for NYC wing-heads. Dan and John’s Wings, the popular NYC wing joint that started out in Brooklyn, is gearing up to open their third location later this year.
Dan and John’s Wings got its start years ago when two best friends, owners Dan Borowski and John Henninger, started making wings to satisfy their needs during Bills games. Growing up in Buffalo, the two were initiated at a young age into the cult of authentic Buffalo wings, learning the time-honored secrets that make Buffalo wings a cut above the rest.
Balking at big-name chains that claim to represent Buffalo with their own wings, Dan and John sought out to show the rest of New York what Buffalo wings are really all about. In 2013, they developed their signature wings and sauce for Brooklyn’s Smorgasbord festival and quickly cultivated a loyal following. Soon enough the demand for the wings had reached the point where they were able to open their first brick-and-mortar location in the East Village.
Since then, Dan and John have been riding the wave of success, expanding their East Village operation and opening another in Murray Hill. The duo were even featured on an episode of the popular YouTube series, “Hot Ones.” Dan and John’s wings were even crowned “NYC King of Wings” on The Infatuation. Now, the team is preparing for yet another expansion, this time moving to Chelsea at 103 West 14th Street, only a few blocks west of Union Square.
The new Dan and John’s will be replacing the former Bareburger that previously occupied the space. Featuring 1,600 square feet of space on the ground floor of the luxury building known as Stonehenge Gardens, Dan and John’s will be a welcome addition to the neighborhood. While their East Village location is currently closed for repairs, be sure to visit their Murray Hill store at 439 Third Avenue if you’d like to try their chicken out before they open in Chelsea.
