A new Indian restaurant, Dravida, is gearing up for opening in the East Village. It will open at 211 First Ave.

The forthcoming restaurant comes from chef Aarthi Sampath, known for appearances on “Chopped” and Canadian-based “Fire Masters,” as well as a role as judge on “Worst Cooks of America” and “Beat Bobby Flay.”

The forthcoming restaurant will feature four tables with 20 seats, according to community board filings last year. The proposed menu included items such as chicken kebabs, samosas, beef curry, fried curry chicken, Ema datshi, Schezwan lobster and chai tiramisu. The beverage program will offer Indian-influenced signature cocktails, beers and wines.

The proposed hours of operation were 3 p.m. to 12 a.m. daily.

The restaurant’s website announces that it will be “launching soon.” However, there is no official word on opening yet. EV Grieve reports that construction has been steadily progressing on the location.
