East Japanese Restaurant is heading to Hell’s Kitchen, with plans to take the space at 314 West 53rd St., according to community board filings. The space formerly housed Hide-Chan Ramen, which permanently closed last September.
Shigeru Nishida is the owner behind the spot. It is the same ownership behind Soba Noodle Azuma in Fort Lee, New Jersey, and the same team behind East Japanese Restaurant that formerly operated on East 66th Street, according to the filed paperwork.
The menu features a variety of Japanese dishes, including sushi and ramen.
Plans for the space call for 20 tables that will seat 44 and one stand-up bar that seats 10. The proposed hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, with an extension to 12 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
As of now, no opening timeline for the restaurant has been announced.
