The team behind “Jew-ish” diner and bar Gertie has a new concept in the works. Owners Nate Adler and Rachel Jackson are bringing Trudie’s Tavern to 524 Court Street in Carroll Gardens, according to Eater NY. The spot formerly housed Buttermilk Channel, which closed last year after a 16-year run.

Trudie’s Tavern will feature dishes like steak, rotisserie chicken, and chicken and waffles, according to Eater NY. It is expected to open later this year.

The new concept comes amid changes for Adler and Jackson, who recently closed Gertie at its original home in Williamsburg with plans to reopen the concept in Prospect Heights this fall. That spot is known for its bagels, fish, meats, sandwiches and more.

The duo are also part of the ownership team behind Prospect Heights bistro Gertrude’s, which opened in 2023.

Efforts to reach the ownership team for more details about Trudie’s Tavern were unsuccessful prior to the time of publication.
