The couple behind Ha’s Snack Bar is looking to open a new concept at 137 Eldridge Street, according to paperwork filed for a liquor license.
The paperwork indicates that Anthony Ha and Sadie Mae Burns are hoping to open a Vietnamese restaurant in the space, which is currently held by French restaurant Lena.
Ha and Burns just opened Ha’s Snack Bar at 297 Broome in January after the two ran a popular Vietnamese pop-up — Ha’s Dac Biet — since 2019.
Ha confirmed with What Now New York that they do have a concept in the works but that it is still in the early stages of development. He plans to share more updates soon.
Paperwork indicates that the new yet-to-be-named spot is slated to have six tables with 45 seats total, as well as a bar on the ground floor. The proposed menu for the spot includes starters such as oysters with green chili and snails with tamarind butter, and entrees such as roast beef with kumquats and pak choi; sweet and sour seafood stew; and crab souffle. The beverage program will feature classic cocktails, according to the paperwork.
The proposed hours for the location are 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily.
As of now, an opening timeline remains unclear.
