Latin American restaurant, Buena Vista Restaurant and Bar, is opening a second location in the East Village, according to a press release. Opening in a 3,284 square-foot space on 88 Second Ave., Buena Vista is aiming for a spring 2026 opening.
Buena Vista owner Christian Nuñez grew up in a restaurant family, taking over his father’s Midtown restaurant, Café Nuñez, in 2010. Operating two streets north of Madison Square Garden, the restaurant is a no-brainer after a basketball game or a concert.
In 2018, Nuñez opened the first Buena Vista in Hell’s Kitchen, an upscale restaurant serving modern Latin food. The second location will lean more bar than restaurant, focused on its cocktail and beverage menu. However, diners can still order from a handful of shareable plates, croquettes and paella.

“The East Village has always been one of New York’s most dynamic dining neighborhoods, and we were intentional about finding a space that supports more than just a restaurant,” Nuñez said in the release. “Buena Vista East Village represents the evolution of our brand, rooted in Latin American gastronomy, but designed for how New York dines and socializes today.”
