Renwick Hospitality and Hotel Park Ave. have recently announced plans for Italian-American concept Park Rose and bar concept Seed Library from Mr Lyan to join Hotel Park Ave. this fall. Now, a third concept is in the works to round out the set of offerings.
Golden Child will join the hotel next year, bringing a rooftop terrace bar element to the Nomad location. Renwick Hospitality co-owner Gary Wallach told What Now New York that it will be designed to feel like “an accessible club,” with a casual atmosphere.
“It has this Ivy League design to it that is going to feel incredibly homey,” Wallach said. “It feels like it’s been there forever, even though it’s a brand new layout and design.”
RDStudios, who is collaborating with Renwick Hospitality on design for Park Rose, is also heading up design for Golden Child.
The goal is to offer a concept that will complement Park Rose and Seed Library and bring something new to the offerings at the hotel.
“We look at every neighborhood in New York City as an opportunity to explore the culture, the history and what those neighborhoods want,” Wallach said. “No matter what we’re opening, we always have a focus on that.”
Wallach said that while the menu and beverage program are still in development, they are looking for inspiration in educational culture and history. Like Park Rose, Golden Child will have an Italian-American element in it.
The team expects to open Golden Child in March.
Wallach views the additions to Hotel Park Ave. as a welcome trilogy of concepts that will offer customers three options within one building — something he views as a very New York experience.
“It’s about designing concepts that not only fit the neighborhood, but also fit our partners that are in the hotels right now,” Wallach said. “This will be our fifth hotel, and we’ve always looked to design operations and concepts that make sense for who we are working with — it’s very important for us.”
Renwick Hospitality, which Wallach owns with Carsten Johannsen, also operates other concept such as Lindens, Lulla, Altair, ART Soho Rooftop, ART Midtown Rooftop, Foxtail and The Alderman.
