Ingas Bar is a cozy little cornerstone of the dining scene in Brooklyn Heights, receiving its deserved flowers from the industry since it opened in 2022. Now, husband-and-wife co-owners Sean Rembold and Caron Callahan are opening a new restaurant in Boerum Hill, according to a permit filing from Brooklyn Community Board 2.
First reported by Grub Street, Rembold described the upcoming, yet-to-be-named project as Ingas’s older sister, set for a late winter or early spring opening. A future bar concept will reportedly follow. The new restaurant will inhabit a 2,900 square-foot space on 100 Bond St., formerly the den of Café Kitsuné, which closed toward the end of summer 2025.
Chef Rembold built his career in Williamsburg, working in Andrew Tarlow’s landmark restaurants, like Diner, Marlow & Sons and Reynard. He was up for the James Beard Award for Best Chef: New York State twice. It’s no surprise that the restaurant, with its intimate setting designed by Callahan, rose to prominence, receiving recognition from the Michelin Guide in 2025. Pete Wells wrote about its celery Victor in his review of the restaurant, writing “even the simple plate of tender lettuces and herbs could start a conversation.”
And here we are, once again discussing Ingas Bar and its unnamed sequel, which is still in its conceptual phase. “Everything is still being developed and hammered out,” Rembold told What Now New York. “We’re working and doing our best to get restaurant number two locked and loaded.”
