A new Italian restaurant, Carina, is opening in Greenpoint, first reported by Crain’s New York Business. Translating to “cute” or good-looking from Italian, Carina will be beautifying the commercial space in The Riverie apartment complex on 18 India St.
The upcoming restaurant will be owner Julian Brizzi’s fifth in Brooklyn. Awell-known business owner around Brooklyn, Brizzi also owns Rucola in Boerum Hill, Grand Army in Downtown Brooklyn, Nicky’s Unisex in Williamsburg and Celestine in Dumbo. Carina will serve pasta, focaccia and other side dishes.
The Riverie opened in October 2025 right along the East River, owned by Australian companies Lendlease and Aware Super. The luxury high-rise is one of a handful of buildings in New York City that run exclusively on geothermal energy. It offers 13,000 square feet of retail space, of which Carina will occupy 3,000 square feet.
Carina is aiming for a June 2027 opening.
