Fumo is bringing a new location to 510 Broome Street at SoHo, according to a recent announcement and liquor license paperwork filed with the community board. It is expected to open this summer, according to the announcement.

“We’re thrilled to announce that FUMO is coming to SoHo — bringing our uptown roots from Harlem all the way downtown,” Fumo announced on Instagram in April. “New neighborhood, same FUMO.”

Francesco Capolongo, Steve Gallo, Pierluigi Ossani, Anthony Branchinelli and Louis Branchinelli are behind the spot, known for its pizza, pasta and Italian dishes. The brand currently has locations in Harlem, the Upper West Side, the Upper East Side and Kips Bay. Most recently, it opened a spot in Chelsea last December.

Fumo Restaurants also owns The Inn by Fumo and Fumo Caffe E Vino in Harlem.

The SoHo spot will be 3,200 square feet, stretched across a first floor and basement space. Plans call for 14 tables with 45 seats and one bar that will seat four.

“SoHo is one of those unique neighborhoods that offers you everything from tourists to residents to people that work in the area, so I think it gives you a little bit of everything throughout the course of the year,” Gallo told What Now New York.

The design for the space will include elements from other Fumo locations, Gallo said. Customers can expect white brick walls, subway tiles, and a white, black, gold and green color scheme.

Menu items include spicy calamari, meatballs, pizza, chicken parm, grilled salmon, rigatoni balognese and spaghetti carbonara.

The proposed hours of operation for the SoHo locations are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

Gallo said that as with the other Fumo locations, the goal will be to provide affordable, quality food to customers.

“Being a neighborhood place — that’s what we try to stick to,” Gallo said. “Being that neighborhood place where people can come two or three times a week, that’s been our mission from the beginning.”

The Fumo team sees further expansion down the line, potentially beyond New York City.

“We’re in almost every corner of the city, so I think we have one or two locations left in Manhattan,” Gallo said. “From there, we’ll see how we expand outside of the city or the state, so we’re starting to entertain that as well.”
