A new yet-to-be-named jazz club is looking to open in the space currently home to jazz club Swing 46 at 349 West 46th St., according to filed paperwork. The filing was made under the company Jazzcultural LLC.
It will act as a restaurant, club and bar, with plans for 49 indoor tables that will seat 84 as well as one stand-up bar that will seat 13. Filed paperwork indicates that there will be some outdoor seating as well, with eight tables that will seat 16.
The club will serve limited food offerings, with a proposed menu indicating plans for bar-style food such as cheeseburgers, grilled cheese, BLTs, wings, fries and mac & cheese.
The proposed hours of operation are 12 p.m. to 4 a.m. daily.
Spike Wilner is behind the concept. Wilner is a veteran on the jazz scene in New York City, serving both as a musician himself as well as a club owner. He already owns two jazz clubs, Smalls Jazz Club and Mezzrow, in West Village.
As of now, an opening timeline for the new concept is unclear. Efforts to reach Wilner for comment were unsuccessful.
