Jiahao Gu is looking to open a restaurant called 88 Pocha at 630 10th Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen, according to recent paperwork filed with the community board. The space was formerly home to Chinese take-out spot New Kam Wei.

Plans for the space include four tables that will seat 16 customers and one stand-up bar that will seat three.

The proposed hours for the location are 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. daily.

Gu previously owned Yaso Tangbao in Brooklyn at 148 Lawrence Street, which he operated from 2015 until 2023. That location is closed.

As of now, it is unclear when 88 Pocha plans to open. What Now New York could not obtain a comment from Gu prior to publication.
