Are you ready for a night out on the town, New York? You better be, because Bobby certainly is!

Bobby’s Night Out is a brand new restaurant from owner Robert Gonzales. Gonzales is a well-established New York based restaurateur and is perhaps best known for operating La Flaca, one of the city’s premier Mexican-American restaurants. Highlighting the delicious cuisine of his home state of New Mexico, Robert operated La Flaca successfully for over a decade at 384 grand street, before it permanently shuttered earlier this year.

While news has been buzzing about the space for a while, Robert is finally ready to move forward with his next project. Bobby’s Night Out is a brand new concept from Gonzales, and will be opening up later this year at 145 Avenue C, replacing the former Esperanto restaurant that formerly occupied the space. Esperanto was an East Village icon, serving the neighborhood its signature Latin fusion dishes for over 22 years.

Thankfully, Robert is a veteran restaurateur who is well-equipped to do justice to the popular space. His new project, Bobby’s Night Out, will feature Mexican and New American dishes like nachos and wings, Mexican shrimp cocktail, disco fries, and a wide assortment of different tacos . Robert is currently in the process of acquiring a full liquor license for Bobby’s Night Out, and is hoping to serve a robust selection of cocktails like spiked horchatas, rose spritzers, bourbon sours, and inventive new cocktails that are fully unique to Bobby’s Night Out.

The location is relatively spacious for the neighborhood, and offers enough space to comfortably seat about 40 guests inside at one time. At the moment, Robert is currently proposing operating hours of 10:00 AM – 4:00 AM every day, including Sunday, though those hours could change according to the community board’s decision.
