Le Petit Village is a new authentic French restaurant from the team behind Loulou Petit Bistro & Speakeasy, New York Jets Captain CJ Mosley and his business partner Brandon Wassel. This new French restaurant located on the corner of 7th Avenue South and Perry Street in the heart of the West Village will showcase authentic French cuisine inspired by the small villages in South of France where co-owner Mathias Van Leyden grew up in the late 70’s. The second floor will include a hidden speakeasy room designed for private events and cocktail tastings.

Le Petit Village is owned by Mathias Van Leyden and Mino Habib, who also own Loulou Petit Bistro and Adelaide’s Salon in Chelsea. They are joined in this venture by New York Jets Captain, Inside Linebacker and 5-time NFL Pro Bowl Player C.J. Mosley and C.J. Mosley’s business partner Brandon Wassel.

Executive Chef Mehjabin Ahmed is a seasoned chef with experience at some of the world’s most known restaurants, including Eleven Madison Park, Le Coucou, and Spice Market. She was Stagiaire Chef at Noma Koan in Copenhagen and Bistrot Paul Bert in Paris and most recently worked at Jean’s. A graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, Chef Mehjabin now helms the kitchen at Le Petit Village, where she brings her expertise in regional French cuisine with a focus on seasonal ingredients. Having grown up across multiple countries and spending half of her life in NYC, she draws inspiration from both Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine.

The cuisine at Le Petit Village will focus on classic dishes from different regions of France from Chef Ahmed, who trained with Daniel Humm, Daniel Boulud, Jean Georges Vongerichten and Daniel Rose. The Terroir French Menu will include Coq au Vin, Cassoulet, Raclette, Ratatouille and Bœuf Bourguignon among the signatures.

Le Petit Village will feature a cocktail menu curated by Jeremy Le Blanche of Fantom Creative Hospitality, formerly of La Reserve St. Tropez and Thyme Bar NYC. Blending classic cocktails with sensory elements, his menu enhances both flavor and experience. Standouts include The Rose De Chloe, a rich mix of bourbon, Ratafia, and salted caramel Campari with a meringue and dehydrated rose garnish, and the show-stopping Fleure Blanche, featuring bee pollen-infused vodka, St. Germain Elderflower and cucumber Pani Puri syrup, topped with baby’s breath, dry ice and edible glitter. Whether savoring the smoky Devilwood Old Fashioned or the playful My First Love, guests can expect an immersive, artful cocktail experience.

This 3,000 square foot restaurant was designed by Delphine Mauroit. The bi-level venue features two bars, accommodating 10 seats at the main bar and six seats on the mezzanine level. Inspired by the small villages of France, particularly those tucked away in Provence. Le Petit Village, designed by DMDesign – Architecture, brings warmth and timeless charm to the West Village. Reclaimed wood, parquet flooring and exposed brick create an inviting backdrop, while a vintage fireplace, dark red leather banquettes and softly lit brass sconces add to the cozy ambiance. Upstairs, a private dining and cocktail lounge nods to New York’s vibrant past with nostalgic party photos. Outside, the façade evokes a classic French village storefront, complete with an artist-painted brick-red and white exterior and climbing greenery.

Le Petit Village is located at 173 7th Ave S.,New York, NY 10014.
