Gluten-free restaurant chain Friedman’s is expanding with a new location, slated to join Tribeca at 378 Greenwich St., according to the New Openings NYC’s Instagram page, which indicates that “coming soon” signage is up at the address.
This spot will be the eighth for the local brand. It launched in 2009 at Chelsea Market. Since then, it has expanded to locations in Battery Park, Hell’s Kitchen, Herald Square, Edison Hotel, West End and the Upper West Side.
The all-day restaurant offers a fully gluten-free menu, including breakfast items like lemon ricotta pancakes, French toast and omelettes; sandwiches such as the grilled chicken swisswich and hand-cut pastrami; and burgers such as the crab cake burger and the turkey burger. Drink offerings include handcrafted coffee beverages, smoothies and juices, as well as cocktails, beer and wine.
“Our mantra is simple — ‘Eat good food’ — and this is what we strive to deliver to our guests,” the Friedman’s website states. “For us, it has two meanings. Firstly, eat food that tastes good. Secondly, be proud of the food you serve. We know where our food comes from. We communicate regularly with our farmers and are proud to serve antibiotic free meats and local vegetables. Our mission is for you to love, respect and enjoy not only the food you serve, but also the team you work with.”
As of now, an opening timeline remains unclear.
What Now New York recently reported that Casa Louie, an Italian restaurant also owned by Friedman’s owner Jonah Phillips, is heading to the same address in Tribeca for its second location.
