Maple Hospitality Group, helmed by chef Danny Grant and managing partner Jim Lasky, is opening a 12,000-square-foot restaurant at 1290 Sixth Avenue, according to reporting by Eater NY.

Maple Hospitality Group is known for Maple & Ash, a steakhouse that opened in Chicago in 2015. It also has a location in Scottsdale and one opening soon in Miami, as well as a location on the way to Boston, as previously reported by What Now Boston.

Details about the new restaurant remain unclear. A name for the location has not been released, but it is likely that the new space could house a New York location for the acclaimed Maple & Ash brand.

“With a singular vision to redefine luxury dining, Maple & Ash shattered the conventions of the traditional steakhouse. We stand as the architects of unforgettable experiences, building on the rich legacy of our beginnings to fuel our fire,” the Maple Hospitality website states. “We are constantly developing new brands to add to our ever-evolving portfolio.”

The group is also behind Dallas’s Italian restaurant Monarch, Eight Bar located in Maple & Ash and cocktail lounge Kessaku in Dallas. The restaurant in Midtown will be the hospitality group’s first in New York City.

Before Maple & Ash, Lasky owned The Hunt Club, which operated for 18 years after opening in 1995.

As of now, it is unclear when the Midtown restaurant will open. However, it appears to be in the early stages of development.

Maple Hospitality Group did not provide further comment prior to publication.
