New York’s fastest-growing quick service Mediterranean Grill is continuing to expand its impressive portfolio.
Mezeh Mediterranean Grill is a popular fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant that endeavors to elevate the traditional offerings of a fast-casual experience. The brand was established by owners Saleh Mohamadi, Steve Walker, and Tai Chiao, who wanted to fuse the flavors and nutrition of Mediterranean cuisine with the ease and convenience of a fast-casual restaurant. Derived from the Turkish word for flavor, “Meze”, Mezeh Mediterranean Grill highlights Halal cuisine with a unique open kitchen concept where chefs prepare flavorful dishes made with only fresh, natural, and bold ingredients.
While the brand is a relative newcomer to the city, they have already established four locations across the city since launching their first New York store last year. In fact, your intrepid reporters at What Now were the first to break the story last September. Most recently, we covered their fourth expansion to date, which saw the grill establishing a new outpost on Third Avenue. Now, Mohamadi and his team are once again gearing up to develop a new location, this time in the Financial District.
The newest Mezeh Mediterranean Grill to open up in New York will be arriving at 111 Fulton Street. Expected to open later in 2023, the location was formerly home to GRK Fresh Greek, a popular counter-serve cafe that offered casual Greek fare in a bright and airy space. The space is well-suited to meet Mezeh’s needs, and offers a total 3,400 square feet of space. While more information about the space is still forthcoming, Mezeh fans are excited to see what will happen to the space. Every Mezeh location features a unique design that is tailored to its neighborhood, so it will be interesting to see what Mohamadi and the team have in store for Fulton Street.
When the new location finally launches, guests can expect to enjoy a rich selection of Mediterranean and Halal dishes, including the ever-popular “build your own bowl” option which features over 65 different potential recipes.
