An exciting new restaurant is making its way to New York. Mezeh Mediterranean Grill, the popular Virginia-based chain that specializes in light and fresh Mediterranean cuisine, is plotting a new store at 1700 Broadway, between West 53rd Street and West 54th.
Mezeh Mediterranean Grill was founded by Saleh Mohamadi and Steve Walker in 2012, in Fairfax Station, Virginia. Described as “Natural Freshness combined with a Unique Boldness unlike anything else,” Mezeh offers a premium chef-driven experience in a fast-casual environment. Combing bold new takes on fresh Mediterranean cuisine with a low-key welcoming environment, Mezeh never compromises on the integrity of its ingredients in exchange for convenience.
While Saleh and Walker operate 30+ Mezeh restaurants across the country, they are not a franchise. Every Mezeh is personally supervised by the original owners to ensure that every single location meets the core Mezeh vision. The Mezeh team doesn’t want to risk diluting the quality of their brand by overextending their reach. In fact, every Mezeh location is uniquely designed and tailored to maximize its environment. They may share a common aesthetic, but no two Mezeh restaurants are exactly alike.
The most popular dish offered by Mezeh is their “build your own bowl” option. Featuring 65 different potential recipes, guests are invited to build the Mediterranean bowl of their dreams on a base of Turkish salad, Lebanese tabbouleh, or Israeli couscous.
Occupying 1400 square feet of space on the ground floor of 1700 Broadway, Mezeh is expected to be operational by Spring of 2022. While there aren’t any other NYC locations open yet, more are expected to be announced in the near future.
