Manhattanites, I hope you’re ready! One of the Bronx’s best burger joints is finally making plans to move downtown – way downtown.
Milk Burger was founded by Harlem entrepreneur Erik Mayor in the South Bronx. A business owner with over a decade of experience, Erik has employed hundreds of East Harlem and and South Bronx residents with his ambitious endeavors. More than just a restaurant, Erik uses his businesses to support his community by teaching young budding entrepreneurs the skillsets needed to become successful in the business world.
His most successful endeavor to date has to be Milk Burger. Dubbing itself “New York City’s Favorite Burger,” the restaurant has a lot of requirements it needs to meet to back up that lofty claim. Thankfully, those in the know insist that Milk Burger deserves its reputation. Hand crafted from 100% certified black angus beef, Milk Burger sources all its meat from local cattle farms in upstate New York and Pennsylvania, never compromising the quality and integrity of their food.
Now, after 10 years of successful operation (and a glowing review from the late Anthony Bourdain), Milk Burger is finally beginning its first expansion into new markets. The first-ever Milk Burger expansion will be moving into the space at 321 East Houston Street, replacing El Maguey Y La Tuna Restaurant, a popular Mexican restaurant that closed years ago and has since remained vacant. While further information about Erik’s new restaurant is still forthcoming, you can follow Milk Burger’s Instagram for progress updates.
