A new bar called The Pocket is heading to 10 Delancey Street, according to community board filings. The ground-floor space was previously home to tequila bar Tampico.
The spot will serve American fare alongside drinks, although menu details remain unclear at this time. Plans call for 18 indoor tables with 74 seats and one 18-seat bar. There will also be a back patio.
Geoffrey Dawson, Julian Dawson and Bennett Genovesi are the owners behind the spot. The operators have experience in the bar industry. Geoffrey co-founded Tin Shop, a Washington, D.C.-based hospitality group behind multiple bars and event venues in Washington, D.C. and Virginia. Their locations include Astro Beer Hall, Penn Social, Quincy Hall and Franklin Hall.
The Pocket appears to be the first venture in New York City for Dawson.
The proposed hours of operation for The Pocket are 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday, 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, 12 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and 12 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Sunday.
At this time, further details, including an opening timeline, remain unclear. Stay tuned for additional updates.
