A brand new Brazilian Restaurant is currently slated to open up in later Hells Kitchen this year.
Carlos Inacio is a New York-based chef who was been serving the city authentic Brazilian dishes for over 25 years. The founder of the popular spot Rice N’ Beans, Carlos has spent the past two decades operating the restaurant out of Woodside, Queens. Now, it appears that Carlos will finally be bringing his expertise all the way to Manhattan, where he intends to open a brand new restaurant.
Carlos’s latest restaurant, which has yet to be named, is currently scheduled to open up at 688 10th Avenue. Operating under the name Inacio NYC INC, the new restaurant will serve the same iconic Brazilian fare that Inacio is known for. The restaurant will offer everything from fried yuca and Brazilian-style empanadas to hearty entrees like lomo saltado, Carioca chicken, and Cuban-style pulled beef. Carlos is currently in the process of acquiring a liquor license for the space, and once he has acquired it he will also be serving Brazilian cocktails like Caipirinha alongside an assortment of local and Brazilian beers.
The new restaurant will be replacing Madrock Tapas & Cocktail Bar, a popular Hells kitchen haunt known for serving quality cocktails and light snacks. The space has enough room to comfortably seat 38 guests, including a standing a bar that will be able to seat 12 guests. Carlos is currently proposing operating hours of 11:00 AM – 1:00 AM Monday through Thursday , and 11:00 AM – 2:00 AM Friday through Sunday.
It is not clear at the moment whether or not Carlos’s new restaurant will be part of the Rice N’ Beans family or its own standalone concept. Once Carlos has finalized the application and acquired the necessary licenses for the space, he will be able to share more information. In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled for signs of the restaurant’s opening in the former MadRock space on 10th Avenue.
