Musche is heading to 201 Allen St. on the Lower East Side, according to community board filings. The cafe plans to function as a counter service-only spot, serving beverages and light meals.

The spot will serve artisan coffee and teas, as well as a light breakfast-lunch menu featuring turkey sandwiches, roasted veggie wraps with hummus, and tomato, mozzarella and pesto ciabatta. Musche intends to serve craft beer and wine alongside light savory bites in the evening, with options like mini empanadas, chips with guacamole, charcuterie and pretzel bites with mustard.

“We intend for Musche to serve as a safe, modern cafe-lounge where local residents can connect, relax and enjoy themselves responsibly,” the Musche team stated in the filed paperwork. “Our goal is to create a space that feels like a natural extension of the community.”

Paperwork also indicates plans for activities like billiards, air hockey and karaoke, as well as events like open mic nights and live acoustic sets.

Plans call for 11 tables with 16 seats. The proposed hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m.

The ownership team also appears to operate local convenience store Village Craft Beer & Smoke.

As of now, an opening timeline for Musche remains unclear.
