New Chipotle Mexican Grill Outpost Coming to Greenpoint

A second outpost of the popular Mexican fast-casual chain is coming to North Brooklyn in the near future.

A new outpost of Chipotle is coming to Greenpoint soon. This will be the second outpost in the North Brooklyn area.

The chain is slated to take over the vacant space at 885 Manhattan Avenue. It will be in the same neighborhood as other fast-food chains including Popeye’s and McDonald’s. Chipotle Mexican Grill is a popular chain known for its burritos, bowls, and other fast-casual Mexican fare like its signature chips and guac or salsa that can be personalized by customers who are on-the-go. There are over 3,000 outposts of the fast-casual chain around the country with 56 locations in New York City at press time.

The chain was founded by Steve Ells who first debuted the cenocept in Denver, Colorado, 30 years ago. Less than a decade later, McDonald’s Corporation became a major investor and helped the chain grow to over 500 locations. The company’s most recent revenue report indicates its current revenue is $9.28 billion.
