Forno D’Oro is ready to bring Italian cuisine to 196 Eighth Avenue in Chelsea. The spot is taking over the space formerly home to Italian concept Lasagna Ristorante.

Forno D’Oro filed paperwork with the community board this month. The paperwork indicates plans for 14 tables and 56 seats as well as a seven-seat bar.

The spot will serve Italian fare with a particular focus on pizza, according to the proposed menu attached to the community board filings. Expect to see pizza options like margherita, soppressata and spiced honey, and the Snow White (with fresh mozzarella, Ovalini mozzarella, Buffalo mozzarella, ricotta, roasted garlic, black pepper and pecorino parmesan). There will also be options like salads and calzones, as well as beverage offerings.

The ownership team is comprised of Alap Vora, Kyle Neptune, Salvatore Olivella and Orin Honig. Vora is behind local grocery spot Concord Market in Brooklyn and the Ledo Pizza franchise location in Midtown at 243 West 38th St.

Forno D’Oro is expected to be open from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily. It does have an Instagram presence, but as of now the business has no posts.

Opening timeline information remains unknown at this time.
