Some good news is coming to my fellow New York historians, an exciting new museum is opening up in SoHo next fall that will be bringing along its own restaurant.
Recent intel has just confirmed the existence of a brand new museum that is scheduled to open up in SoHo later this year. While the official name of the museum is still pending, it is temporarily operating under the corporate name Westside Museum LLC. The project is helmed by Robert Frey and Ned Collett, two Las Vegas-based entertainment and nightlife professionals. Robert Frey is the owner of Caliente Development Company as well as Pure Management Group, which was responsible for the Pussycat Dolls Lounge at Caesars Place as well as the Coyote Ugly at the New York New York hotel and casino in Vegas.
Now, Frey and has partners are taking their talents to the East Coast where they intend to operate an exciting new museum. Unfortunately, details are still very scarce regarding the museum’s theme, and Frey and Collett could not be reached for comment. What we do know though, is that the museum will be opening up in a historic cast-iron SoHo building at 427 Broadway, which formerly housed the SoHo flagship of American Apparel. The location offers a total of five floors in one of New York’s most historic districts.
Additionally, Collett and Frey will be operating a brand new restaurant on the fifth floor of the museum. While the restaurant’s official name is pending with the museum’s it will offer 3,100 square feet of space across the top floor of the building. The interior will offer a luxurious lounge seating area and will feature an impressive total of 102 seats in the premises.
Robert Frey is currently in the process of applying for a full liquor license for his new restaurant. He is currently proposing operating hours of 12:00 PM – 12:00 AM on Sundays, and 10:00 AM – 12:00 AM every other day. Unfortunately, the project is still too early into development to share any further details or social media profiles, but rest assured that your humble museum-obsessed author will continue to follow this story until more information is revealed to the public.
