A new sandwich shop is slated to join the East Village at 214 East Fourth Street, according to paperwork filed with CB3 this month. The new shop, 20 Blocks, is seeking liquor license approval at the address.
20 Blocks describes its concept as “two slices of bread, nothing but magic between ’em” on its Instagram page. The proposed menu includes different sandwiches such as egg, fried fish and ratatouille, according to the filed paperwork. The shop will also serve a broccoli rabe sandwich, which will include sauteed broccoli rabe, smoked provolone, Calabrian chili and pizza bianca. Sides will include items like potato salad and sweet potato chips.
The plans for the space include seven indoor tables with a total of 20 seats, as well as a walk-up bar for ordering. Proposed hours are 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Sunday through Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.
Jack August and William Corman are the principals behind 20 Blocks. What Now New York reached out for further information regarding their plans and opening timeline but did not hear back prior to publication.
An opening timeline for the space remains unknown at this time.
