Last year, Hell’s Kitchen residents were devastated to learn that in the midst of the pandemic one of the most popular Midtown bars seemed to shut down for good. Thankfully, while the future seemed dark for quite some time, a bar that was once thought gone is finally initiating plans to reopen with a few changes.
New York Beer Company was a popular Hell’s Kitchen Bar located at 321 West 44th Street. Owned by Brian Connell and Tony Doyle of Hell’s Kitchen Hospitality, New York Beer Company was known for its spacious interior and impressive beer selection. With plenty of burgers, wings, and TVs, NYBC was the perfect haunt for Hell’s Kitchen residents wearied by a flux of hipsters and tourists in Midtown.
While both the bar’s Yelp page and website list the business as “permanently closed,” Brian and Tony have just submitted an application for a new liquor license at the location for 2022. Noting plans to update the sign and add new awnings, Brian and Tony will also be adding a new service bar to the interior as well as an outdoor café in accordance with New York City’s Open Restaurants program.
With enough space to seat 148 guests inside and 40 guests outside, the reopening of New York Beer Company will preserve its reputation for spaciousness while making slight modifications to the old seating arrangement. Open daily from 7:00AM – 4:00AM, New York Beer Company will serve up tradititional gastropub fare alongside beer and cocktails well into the night.
