Overthrow Hospitality is continuing to shuffle its concepts around in the East Village. The hospitality group, helmed by CEO Ravi DeRossi, is now bringing vegan pasta and wine bar concept Soda Club to the recently vacated 95 Avenue A, as reported by EV Grieve.
The spot originally opened at 155 Avenue B in 2021 and has operated there since.
This change comes in the wake of a recent shift for fellow Overthrow Hospitality concept Amor y Amargo, which formerly found its home at 95 Avenue A. It recently relocated to another location, as previously reported by What Now New York.
At the time, DeRossi shared with What Now New York that the Avenue A site was too large for the Amor y Amargo concept and that he and his team were considering different concept ideas to replace Amor y Amargo at the Avenue A location.
The acclaimed Soda Club offers a selection of plant-based Italian dishes and more than 200 natural and organic wines. It is one of several vegan and plant-based concepts in the Overthrow Hospitality portfolio, including Avant Garden, Cadence and Ladybird.
Construction is still to come at 95 Avenue A to prepare the space for Soda Club’s relocation. It is expected to be ready for opening in mid-March, according to EV Grieve.
It is expected that DeRossi and his team will fill the 155 Avenue B space with a new concept once Soda Club moves, though they have not yet announced plans for that location.
