Dorjan Kalaja, owner of Midtown’s Osteria Delbianco, is looking to open a new restaurant, Delbianco Prime, at 423 Madison Avenue around the corner from his flagship.
Kalaja says it is still in the very early planning stages, so he does not have any details to share. He says it may open next year, but he cannot confirm when its grand opening will be. The company behind the restaurant was established this March, and the restaurant’s liquor license is pending.
His flagship, Osteria Delbianco, is an upscale Italian eatery that serves Northern Italian cuisine, also offering a weekend brunch. Its chef Diego Bigucci is from Riccione, a town on Italy’s Adriatic coast in the Emilia-Romagna region in the north of the country. Its menu includes but is not limited to antipasto like caprese di bufala and prosciutto con burrata, salads like caesar, soups like pasta e fagioli, pastas that are made in-house daily like tagliatelle al ragu and risotto ai funghi, and main courses like grilled salmon. It also has a robust wine list.
