Peck Slip Social, a whiskey-forward bar with over 100 whiskeys, craft cocktails that don’t break the bank ($15-17), and a menu of Mediterranean and Asian inspired small plates, and live music opened in NYC Seaport.
Peck Slip Social is from two longtime local Seaport residents: Alex Davis and Learan Kahanov, a cinematographer who has worked on feature films with directors like Kevin Smith and numerous TV shows (like Madam Secretary), and a co-founder of the annual Taste of the Seaport event, which raises funds for two local public schools.
Cocktails ($15-$17) riff on the classics – each is named for a friend or family member of the couple based on their favorite drinks (except Fred, who is their dog). Since both Alex and Learan love whiskey, there will be over 100 whiskeys with a strong focus on bourbon and rye, showcasing the best of American spirits with each category listed geographically so guests can quickly find an old favorite or try something new. Flights will offer the opportunity for exploration.
The “MediterAsian” menu is a collaboration between Chef Taylor Miller (Perry Street, Tin Building by Jean Georges, Ichiran) and Learan, and brings together flavors and influences of the cuisines that reflect the team’s heritage and travels in the Mediterranean and Asia with dishes like Housemade Hummus made from Learan’s family recipe; Lamb Lumpia with wasabi-honey mustard; Mushroom Shawarma; Korean Fried Schnitzel; Falafel-Crusted Salmon Bites; BEK Fried Rice with applewood smoked bacon, egg, house-made kimchi; skewers of lamb, mushroom or chicken; and more. They will start serving brunch (menu to come) in a few weeks.
The 24-foot bar is the longest in the neighborhood and the space is divided into two sides, one room has a small stage and communal seating while the other is set up for play with a pool table, sofa seating, board games, and more. Learan is also a drummer and music is a big part of Peck Slip Social, with a stage featuring a 200-year-old standup piano. The bar will host weekly jazz nights and brunch, along with singer songwriters.

Hours: Monday – Thursday 3pm–12am, Friday 3pm – 1am, Saturday 11am – 1am and Sunday 11am – 11pm (with brunch starting in a few weeks).
