New Greek restaurant Pixida is ramping up toward opening.

News of the lease and the forthcoming restaurant first broke last year when The Moinian Group — the real estate development firm behind the building at 245 Fifth Avenue — shared that Pixida would join the building. The announcement teased an ambitious 16,129-square-foot project, highlighting plans for “a high-end Mediterranean culinary experience” with “a beautiful blend of traditional Greek flavors and warm modern ambiance, right in the heart of NoMad.”

The restaurant, from local restaurateur Stelios Tsappas, will offer a three-story spread including private rooms and a wine cellar in addition to dining space, according to a recent report by Eater NY. Eater reports that the spot will open in the spring.

Tsappas formerly worked with Avra, known for refined and upscale Greek cuisine. Avra opened its first location in the city in 2000.

Efforts to obtain further information about the concept from the ownership were unsuccessful prior to publication.
