A new restaurant is slated to join Pestana CR7 Times Square Hotel at 338 W. 39th St., according to community board filings. Inverse New York will bring Portuguese-inspired cuisine to the location.
The spot will be contemporary and will feature an ingredient-driven menu, focusing on modern Portuguese tapas. Expect dishes like mini empada de pato (duck pie with orange marmalade and spices), roasted pumpkin with cheese and toasted walnuts, lamb and mushroom meatballs, salt cod fritters, Iberian ham croquette and Portuguese charcuterie boards. There will also be sandwiches, salads and desserts like chocolate mousse and pastel de nata.
Pedro Fernandes and Luis Nobre are behind the spot, according to filed paperwork. They also hold ownership in Portuguese restaurant Sol-Mar in Newark, paperwork indicates.
The spot will be open for lunch and dinner, with planned hours of operation from 11:30 a.m. to midnight. There will also be a rear patio open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Plans call for six tables inside that will seat 44 and three tables outside that will seat 12. There will also be one stand-up bar with eight seats.
As of now, an exact opening timeline is unclear.
