Serafina Restaurant Group has had an incredibly successful 2022. Having recently launched a new series of to-go restaurants, What Now NY previously covered the launch of the Serafina To Go at 30 Broad Street.

Now, the popular Italian restaurant is getting ready to open its latest project – Café Serafina – in the heart of Midtown Manhattan at 922 Seventh Ave, on the corner of 58th Street and less than a block away from Central Park. Serafina co-founder Fabio Granato describes the new café as an all-day concept, where guests are welcome to begin their mornings with a fresh cup of coffee or to end their evenings with a glass of wine and a delicious bowl of authentic Italian Pasta, inspired by his childhood growing up in Italy. “In Italy,” Granato says, “the local café is were your day begins with your morning espresso, where you meet friends, share stories, grab lunch, and enjoy tea time.”

Serafina is hoping to take the classic Italian café experience and elevate it with the unique and upscale flair that Serafina has come to be known for. Founded by Granato and his best friend Vittorio Assaf in in 1995, the two set out to serve “the best Italian pizza and pasta in the world,” and have never looked back since. The duo seems to have accomplished their mission, as their restaurant now boasts dozens of different locations spanning across three continents.

Most recently, Serafina announced plans to bring eight new To-Go concepts to Manhattan, providing Serafina’s signature cuisine at a pace that New Yorkers are well-acquainted with. The new café though, is essentially the opposite – establishing a relaxing all-day restaurant where guests are encouraged to take a break and have some coffee with friends. Covering the needs of both the busy and exhausted alike, Café Serafina will feature an impressive 5,000 square feet of space, laid out in a way that evokes a feeling of sitting in an authentic Florentine café.

The new café is a major upgrade for the popular Italian restaurant, which will see them opening up a beautiful corner building less than a block away from Central Park. Replacing the Pain Quotidian that formerly occupied the building, the space features gorgeous glass windows that will enable guests to watch the city pass them by as they enjoy Serafina’s finest coffee, wine, and pasta. In addition, Café Serafina will function as the restaurant’s test kitchen, and new recipes will be introduced to the café before the favorites are chosen and sent out to the rest of the restaurants. Currently plotting a grand opening of March 1st, you can follow the café on Instagram to follow every detail to the minute.
