Somedays Bakery opened its first location earlier this year in the Astoria neighborhood of Queens. Now, the neighborhood bakery is planning its second opening, this time targeting Long Island City.

The new location is slated to open at 4630 Center Boulevard in early 2025. Co-founder Peter Phillips told What Now New York that the team is targeting a January opening.

Somedays Bakery is a Parisian-style neighborhood bakery that serves items like coffee, croissants, sandwiches and other pastries.

“We are a Queens brand. I’m born and raised in Queens,” Phillips said. “That’s where we expanded with my first brand, Chip City [Cookies], so it’s natural to expand into this market.”

Phillips is also one of the founders behind Chip City Cookies, which launched in 2017 and has since expanded to 51 locations across nine states. He hopes to model that same growth with Somedays Bakery.

“We’re very grateful for the warm reception that Astoria has given us and all the support from our customers,” Phillips said.
