Tatte Bakery & Cafe appears to be planning its first New York City location, according to bid documents and job listings. It is heading to 315 Park Ave South in Midtown.

Founder and pastry chef Tzurit Or launched Tatte Bakery in 2007 at the Copley Square farmers market in Boston. Since then, it has expanded to multiple locations across Massachusetts, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D. C. There is also a location in Ridgewood, New Jersey.

“For Tzurit, building a bakery of her own was about more than just cultivating a thriving business; it was a way to create a sense of home and community while starting a new life as an immigrant to the U.S.,” the Tatte Bakery & Cafe website states. “Her vision for Tatte was humble in origin — grounded in a simple mission to bring people together around great food and pastries while providing a deep sense of comfort and belonging.”

The spot serves breakfast sandwiches, quiches, toasts, shakshuka, bowls, salads, soups and lunch sandwiches such as roasted salmon sandwiches and turkey avocado sandwiches.

This would be the first spot for the brand in New York.

As of now, an opening timeline for the location remains unclear. At this time, it appears that it is still in the early stages of buildout. Efforts to reach a spokesperson with the company for comment prior to the time of publication were unsuccessful.
