Omakase has long been a staple of New York City’s dining scene, and a new restaurant concept is adding two locations to the city’s lineup.
TENSHOU Japanese Omakase Collection plans to open spots at One Grand Central and 1370 Broadway.
Round One Delicious USA Inc., an upscale restaurant venture led by CEO Shane Kaj, developed and built the brand, bringing together renowned Japanese master chefs and culinary concepts.
Omakase is a Japanese dining experience in which guests leave the menu selection to the chef. The chef typically serves a curated series of dishes, often highlighting seasonal ingredients, fresh seafood and traditional techniques.
Each location will offer a different selection.
The One Grand Central location will offer sushi and kaiseki, along with contemporary Japanese cuisine, tempura and yakitori.
“Just steps away from Grand Central, a new place emerges where commuters and travelers in the country’s busiest city can savor Japan’s finest,” the website reads.
The Broadway location will bring together six dining concepts, offering sushi, kaiseki, yakitori, tempura and fine Chinese cuisine under one roof.
“When Broadway flirts with fine art, an intimate culinary theatre takes center stage,” the website reads.
One Grand Central leans more heavily into Japanese cuisine, while Broadway adds fine Chinese cuisine through Jotaki and has two separate sushi concepts.
Both locations will also feature Bar Centifolia, known for its “theatrical craft,” offering cocktails crafted with innovative techniques and rooted in old Japanese traditions.
“BAR CENTIFOLIA is a sanctuary where the precision of Japanese discipline meets the fleeting beauty of nature. Each moment is a deliberate composition of light, shadow, and scent-crafted to awaken the senses in profound silence,” the website reads.
TENSHOU Japanese Omakase Collection will debut beyond New York City, with additional outposts planned for Las Vegas and West Hollywood.
Official opening dates have not yet been announced, however, visit the website and follow along on Instagram. Stay tuned!
