Lower East Side hotel Nine Orchard is changing hands. Austin-based McGuire Moorman Lambert (MML) Hospitality has acquired the hotel, as well as the hotel’s restaurants — Corner Bar, Swan Room and Blue Room.
The hotel sold for $92 million, according to reporting by the New York Business Journal.
Chefs Larry McGuire and Tom Moorman launched McGuire Moorman Hospitality in 2009. The company transformed into MML Hospitality when hotelier Liz Lambert joined the team as a partner in 2021.
MML operates a long list of restaurants, bars and cafes, including Clark’s Oyster Bar, Swedish Hill and Lou’s Austin. It also operates Hotel Saint Vincent in New Orleans and a couple retail spots — ByGeorge and La Embajada — in Austin.
Nine Orchard is located in the historic Jarmulowsky Bank, which was built in 1912. The building was restored and transformed into the hotel. Nine Orchard offers 113 guest rooms alongside their culinary offerings. Corner Bar serves as an all-day restaurant reminiscent of classic taverns. Swan Room serves as an evening cocktail lounge, and Blue Room serves as a private, upscale restaurant area for customers.
