Chef Jess Shadbolt and Annie Shi, the team behind King, have a new restaurant in the works. Dean’s will open in a 600-square-foot space at 213 Sixth Avenue, bringing a British-inspired seafood concept to SoHo, according to community board filings from earlier this year. It will open in late 2025 or early 2026, according to Eater NY.

Expect to see menu items largely inspired by Shadbolt’s hometown back in England, including raw seafood, fish pie, boiled ham and desserts, according to Eater. There will be a full beverage program featuring wines, spirits and Guinness.

Shi and Shadbolt opened French and Italian-inspired King in SoHo in 2016 with fellow chef Clare de Boer. Since then, Shi and Shadbolt have opened Jupiter in Rockefeller Center, and Shi opened wine bar Lei in Chinatown in June.

Dean’s is expected to have 10-12 indoor tables that will seat 20-24 people, as well as one bar that will seat six. The team also submitted paperwork for a potential outdoor seating element when filing paperwork for the community board several months ago.

The proposed hours of operation are 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. daily.
