Chef Andrew Quinn and sommelier Cedric Nicaise of The Noortwyck, alongside another partner Kevin Ryan, will be bringing a yet-to-be-named concept to 174 Mott Street, according to paperwork filed with the community board.
The space is 5,613 square feet, spread across a ground floor and basement space. Paperwork describes the spot as “an elegant, seasonal wood-fired concept in a tasteful, modern space.” The design will come from architecture firm Modellus Novus.
The menu will feature items sourced from local farmers and East Coast fishermen. Menu items will include oysters, a caviar service, raw seafood, grilled fish and vegetables, chicken roasted over coals, beef ribs and dry-aged duck.
The plans for the space call for 38 tables with 126 seats and two bars with 14 seats. The 2,605-square-foot cellar is expected to be used for private dining.
The proposed hours of operation for the spot is 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily.
Quinn and Nicaise first met at Eleven Madison Park. They opened The Noortwyck in the West Village in June 2022, offering a New American menu focused on locally-sourced ingredients and an extensive wine list.
What Now New York reached out to the ownership team, who declined to provide further details on the forthcoming concept on Mott Street at this time. However, Eater reports that the new restaurant is slated to open this fall.
