Van Leeuwen Ice Cream will be opening a second Greenpoint location later this year.

Per Traded NY, Van Leeuwen signed a lease for a 1,500 square-foot space at 136 Franklin Street.

Founded by Ben Van Leeuwen, Pete Van Leeuwen and Laura O’Neill in 2008, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream has grown from a single yellow scoop truck to an internationally recognized dessert brand.

With over 50 locations nationwide and one location in Singapore, Van Leeuwen has built a significant presence online and a consistent customer base in neighborhoods where it operates.

A representative from Van Leeuwen confirmed plans for this location to open in fall or 2024.

Ben Van Leeuwen did not immediately respond to What Now NY’s request for a comment.

The new Greenpoint location will be located a 15-minute walk from the other Greenpoint location at 620 Manhattan Ave in Brooklyn.
