Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is set to open a new shop at 2578 Broadway, taking over the space previously occupied by Blue Marble Ice Cream, which closed its doors in October 2023. The arrival of Van Leeuwen at this location was signaled by recent ‘Coming Soon’ signage.

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, known for its bright yellow trucks and a mission to create ice cream that is both delicious and satisfying, began its journey in 2008 on the streets of New York City. The company has emphasized a philosophy that equates happiness with healthiness, a mantra evident in their approach to ice cream making. “What could be happier than that magic combination of milk, cream, eggs, and cane sugar?,” its website states, acknowledging their inclusive approach by also offering options for vegan customers using ingredients like coconuts, cashews, and oats.

Their commitment to quality is clear, as they source choice ingredients, even if it means going as far as Mount Etna to find them. Van Leeuwen focuses on simplicity and harmony in its ingredients, ensuring that their products are not just tasty, but also digestible and accommodating for a diverse range of customers.

The new Broadway location represents a continuation of Van Leeuwen’s expansion in New York City. The company has grown significantly since its inception, both in popularity and presence, with a variety of traditional and vegan ice cream options that have garnered a loyal following.
